MBT FTTH Network Service Terms and Conditions
1. Agreement
By purchasing and using MBT’s network service, the customer agrees to comply with the following terms and conditions.
2. Contract Period
Unless the service period is specifically stated in the order form, the initial contract period shall be (6) months. If the service is terminated before completing (6) months, the customer shall pay an early termination fee of MMK 100,000.
3. Equipment
All equipment, including the ONU, provided are free of charge but remain the property of Myanmar Broadband Telecom Company. When the service is no longer in use, the equipment must be returned. If the equipment is damaged due to the customer’s negligence or is not functioning properly, the customer shall pay a compensation fee of MMK 120,000.
4. Payment
Customers shall pay for the chosen package only after the device is installed. Payment will be collected by MBT installation staff, and there is no need to transfer money to any individual. Payment can be made via MBT APP, Banking (YOMA, KBZ, AYA), or Digital Wallet Pay (Wave, KBZ, CB, AYA) into MBT’s official account. Customers will be notified at least one (1) week before the payment period ends. If payment is overdue, service will be automatically suspended. The service can be reactivated only after the payment is made. Reactivation may take up to (24) hours. Customers may also pay via MBT APP for immediate reactivation. Paying the monthly fee in advance is recommended to avoid service interruptions. Monthly fees already paid are non-refundable.
5. Overpayment
Customers can accurately pay bills using the MBT Application. If an overpayment occurs due to any reason via digital channels, MBT will deduction (3) months’ service fees in advance and refund the remaining balance. Refund processing may take a minimum of (2) weeks and maximum of up to (1) month.
6. Line Pause
Customers who have not completed the initial (6) month contract period are not allowed to pause the service. After the contract period, a customer may pause the service by paying a service pause fee of MMK 5,000 per month. Customers with remaining service periods shall not pause the service. This fee is collected as a maintenance charge to ensure that the facilities remain readily available and can be accessed quickly whenever users need them again.
7. Relocation
Customers may relocate their service within MBT serviceable areas by either paying a (6) months extension of the monthly fee or an installation fee of MMK 50,000. If a customer relocates to an area without service coverage before completing the six-month contract, the installation fee of MMK 100,000 will be charged as a penalty.
8. Taxes
Customers are responsible for paying all applicable taxes and fees as required by the government in relation to MBT services.
9. Failure of Obligations / Service Suspension
If MBT fails to properly perform its obligations for service and maintenance, and service is interrupted for more than (48) hours, compensation will be provided for the time beyond the 48-hour period. MBT may temporarily suspend service if payment is not made.
10. Unforeseen Circumstances
MBT is not responsible for service disruptions caused by unforeseen events that are difficult to predict (e.g., natural disasters, wars, riot) or government activities for city development such as tree cutting, clearing electricity poles, road/bridge repairs, underground works, draining system expansion and so on. MBT will make reasonable efforts to restore service but will not provide compensatory or extra service days for the period affected.
11. Limitation of Liability
MBT is not responsible for any consequences arising from misuse or improper use of the service, including loss of personal data, financial losses, or service interruptions. The customer is solely responsible for such consequences.
12. No Redistribution
Customers may not resell or redistribute MBT internet services to others without prior written permission from MBT. Violation may result in immediate termination of service. Temporary usage may be permitted for public venues such as hotels, resorts, and restaurants.
13. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes related to the service shall be resolved at MBT’s registered head office.
14. Changes in Regulations
Government policies, procedures, and guidelines may change from time to time. MBT reserves the right to revise internal rules or modify certain business practices in accordance with such changes, which shall automatically apply to this agreement.
